Leading Swiss bearing company SKF (Svenska Kullagerfabriken) is holding a Life Cycle Management Conference October 9th and 10th in Park City, UT bringing together experts in the mining industry for learning opportunities and networking.

“SKF asked us to submit examples of product development and improvement that included customer team members throughout the product realization process,” said Darren Witt, Blasthole Drill Product Line Manager. “Our L&H Omega trackpads for the Pit Viper drills were selected as one of the twelve case study solutions to be presented to directors, managers and other leaders in the mining industry.”

As a guest speaker, Darren Witt, Blasthole Drill Product Line Manager, will be attending the conference along with Ross Ferderer, L&H Industrial Designer.

Witt is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and holds BS in Mechanical Engineering. He joined L&H Industrial in 2007 as Director of Engineering before transferring to International Sales and managing the Blasthole Drill Product Line. Darren’s responsibilities include directing the development and growth of L&H’s drill products as an alternative supplier. Current projects include expanding the drill transmission and gearbox applications and enhanced undercarriage systems for Caterpillar, P&H, and Atlas Copco drills.

“Being a solutions oriented company focused on innovation”, said Witt, “we were honored to be selected.”

The LCM (Life Cycle Management) Conference is a premium event for leaders, managers, and directors in the mining industry. During the conference, attendees will participate in Q&A sessions, presentations on mining cases delivered by leaders in the industry, networking workshops and open table discussions with other mining companies.

The SKF Life Cycle Management Conference will be held October 9-10, 2014 in Park City, Utah at the Marriott Park City.
