A new standard in gearing

With over 50 years of maintaining heavy mining equipment in the coal mines of Wyoming, L&H Industrial was committed to delivering the same high quality manufacturing to the copper mines of the southwest. Over the past 10 years, L&H has heavily invested into facilities, equipment, process improvement and industry experts to push us to the cutting edge of quality and performance in our Southwest operations.

A gear manufacturing facility

In 2008 L&H Industrial purchased a gear manufacturing facility in Tempe, AZ with a plan to transform the outdated shop into a state-of the art facility. Over the next few years L&H completely overhauled the facility and invested in advanced equipment and tooling. Today, the facility spans over 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space and is home to one of the largest gear grinders in the United States. The machine shop holds a plethora of machining equipment from lathes to gear gashers and vertical and horizontal turning mills. Likewise, the new welding facility boasts a 200-ton crane capacity to maneuver the biggest parts in the industry; additionally, all the new facilities and equipment are paired with industry experts and design engineers backed by over 50 years of maintaining mining machinery.

Today, L&H’s Tempe facility is now a local manufacturing and repair shop that works on the largest ring gears for shovel swing systems to mill pinions and dragline shafts. “Our facility has been outfitted with modern equipment and innovative technology that produces high quality products. Additionally, we staff an experienced engineering team who specifically designs new products and upgrades to equipment that are customer driven; Our Tempe location has become a strong supplier in the Southwest and a company who customers can count on.” added Mike Wandler, President of L&H Industrial.
